Lord of the Flies ll

My goodness he was a biggy. Strutting around the greenhouse like he owned the place - well I suppose he did. There was a definite lull in the fly buzzing department as he munched slowly on a greenfly.

Maybe it was a she - a Wasp Queen!

Anyway in the spirit of Treegonk it had to be snapped.

Other greenhouse news. Today we ate our first home grown cucumber - for breakfast - and boy was it good. We don't buy any cucumber in the winter because they don't taste like our own, so it's sign that the real summer's here.

Tonight we will be eating courgette risotto (thanks to Mary Contini) with tomato and cucumber salad. With mostly our own produce.

Now if I could only crack the rice growing........
