Lake Superior Sea Caves

Jill picked me up at 8:30 this morning and we drove one and a half miles to the Apostle Islands Sea Caves. We had to park a mile away from the park along the highway because there was no room in the parking lot. So we hiked a mile to the lake, then another mile to the caves, then a half mile more taking pictures and enjoying the scenery. There are three miles of ice formations along the cliff side but there was no way I could have hiked that far. I was hurting the last mile and a half the way it was.
It was stunning! Definately worth the hike. I would do it again. We had gorgeous weather too. It was sunny and got up into the 50s. If not for the wind, I would have had my hat, jacket and mittens off.
The restaurants in the area were busy so we drove back to Superior for lunch. Jill's son is the chef at a new restaurant, Shorty's. Excellent food and very reasonable prices. I'll be going back there again. It was right across from the Toyota dealership and as I'm in the market for a new car , I picked up some brochures. I thought I'd be sore and stiff by the time I got home, but I felt great. Those trips to the chiropractor have really helped.
