Started Tiling

Wife is away for the weekend and I'm back at work after seeing her leave.

Dunno where I've got up to in this story - we pulled all the tiles off earlier in the week. Yesterday I smoothed the surface out - finding all the remants still sticking up and air hammering them smooth, and then put half a sack of tile set up to smooth it all out a bit (especially to fill the gouge holes that were there).

Today I quickly sanded off the rough egdes (it doesn't have to be that smooth) and got on with the file bit of tiling. This will require another two days of work at least though. The problem is that line of glass going round the top as they get crushed when you put tiles above them - all the top tiles gradually fall. Last time we nailed the top tiles (put a tack through and the tiles rested on the tack), but this time we might get to putting the glass on, and then come back another day.

However, the first 20 tiles went up pretty well. Only one sitting maybe 1/16th of an inch proud which you won't notice when it's grouted.

Quite pleased. Until I dropped a box of tiles and smashed 5....doh.
