Pieris
I love this season of the year and this year I am especially excited as wonderful changes and big plans are finally coming to fruition. This pieris, which I had grown up having heard called Japonica, sprung to life while I was doing something else. I looked over one morning on my way to, or from, work. I have been so busy lately that telling one from the other seems pointless. It is part of the bones of this garden and is 40 years old. It seems in great shape and hasn't required much trimming this year. Later in the summer the leaves will change to a bright red and look like another flowering altogether.
