Quick cultural heads-up. I saw two very different but enjoyable films last night. The second was this one, lots to admire in the design and in the details, all very light and frothy. The first (that opens at the end of the month) was this one,, the Oscar-winning documentary about some of the backup singers that have featured on many a classic song over the years. You'll know their voices well enough, but you'll probably have never heard of their names. Although after seeing the film at least a few of them are now ingrained in my memory. Not all of them went on to have solo careers, but a fair few attempted the leap, with mixed success.
