8 degrees

On a course at the Natural History Museum again this week. A friend convinced me to join members of the Serpentine swimming club in Hyde park at 6.30am for a 'swim'. My version was less swimming, more getting in to some 8 degree water for 10 seconds, forgetting how to breathe, exclaiming that I couldn't feel my legs and being hurried back to the changing room for tea. I am not sure that the club has found its newest member.
