Star Trails

Went out to "The Place of Origin" in Kemnay tonight with James and Neale to try some star trail photography. Basically we set our cameras up pointing at the sky and focused on a stone in the foreground, then set the shutter speed to 30 seconds and took 100 photographs over a 50 minute period. I'm quite pleased with the result although I dare say I could get a better stacked image with some better post-processing.

It was good fun though and it felt good to be outside doing something fun instead of sitting at home, or in a pub. It almost didn't happen though as I'd unfortunately left an interior light on in my car over the past week and drained the battery empty. Thankfully a helpful neighbour came to my rescue and got my car started with his jump leads.
