Fountain of Youth

No really, it’s got to have some kind of special healing powers or anti-aging quality to it to be able to attract the number of people it does. There is a reason Alex and I made a special trek way down to Alderwood to this public untreated water spring today to fill our tiny glass jug full of this magical liquid and it starts with a story. For as long as I can remember, anytime my husband and I have found ourselves in the Lynnwood/Alderwood area we have had a bet on whether or not there will be people at the “water spot”. Every single time we have driven by, no matter what time of the day (or night), there has always been at least one car there filling up their bottles and jugs. Last November we were driving home late from Alderwood and passed by to see a line of cars and people waiting to fill up. Isaac surprised Alex and I when he turned the car around and joined the crew. All we had was a 16 oz water bottle that we emptied and used for our sample. After waiting about 15 min to fill his bottle he returned to the car with what ended up being the best water I have ever tasted! Ok, maybe I’m embellishing a bit, but it was surprisingly very good and we both laughed and thought, maybe it really is the “fountain of youth”. So, this year I was struggling to come up with a gift for my hubby who will be turning a whopping 35 this Friday and I thought, maybe this is the year he needs to start tapping into that fountain. Alex documented me filling my small glass bottle on my phone so I will have proof that it’s the good stuff. And just in case he isn’t too impressed with a bottle of water for his gift, Alex and I were able to find a new pair of shoes and some See’s chocolates today to add a little excitement. I’m not that mean.

I found out today that the 164th Street Artesian Well actually has it’s own Facebook page. Ha! Check it out to read about this modest little spring.
