Whistlestop tour
My, oh my, this is a whistlestop tour. Another day, another country. We zipped around Trieste this morning seeing a few sights, and hopped in the car and drove down to Pula, where we presented our research to a group mainly composed of History students in the afternoon. Then out for dinner with a colleague. Meanwhile, we had just enough time to rush around Pula for a little while, looking for some lunch (we ended up in a bakery eating - inevitably - burek...). At least dinner was some fine Adriatic fish.
At first sight, this looks like the Colisseum has misplaced itself to the seaside. I've yet to take a closer look, but this is a might fine Roman amphitheater, and yes, there are millions of euros of kit moored in the marina.
We're moving on this morning. I'm feeling pretty dizzy.
