Pete - Bakewell Fly Fishing

It's always fun popping in to see Pete at the Bakewell Fly Fishing Shop today was no exception.
Next month we've got the BBC's Great Antiques Map of Britain coming to Bakewell.
Pete had been in contact with them as he has amongst many fishing orientated memorabilia a James Ogden fishing rod.
James Ogden was a river keeper on the Haddon Hall estate close to Bakewell and it was here in 1865 that he originated dry fly fishing a world's first, so to have his rod is just great.
He also has a roman pot that he found in the river and a lovely painting of Haddon Hall with of course someone fishing in the foreground.
Pete has many skills but photography and email are not that high up the list so I was enlisted to supply photos of above items where they were duly sent off.
I hope that they get a mention as there's more to Bakewell (much more) than puddings and tarts!
