Easter Star

This little narcissus was given to me by my friend Jim Taggart, whose son Jamie went missing last November while on a plant-hunting trip in Vietnam, and has not been seen since. This cheerful little daff will always remind me of Jamie and his dad. This was apparently a seedling which Jim named. Easter is a lot later than its namesake this year!

It's actually smaller than it looks; as I'm still not able to lie on the ground or even squat because of the new hip, I had to hold the camera down at ground level and couldn't really see what I was taking, hence the looming close-up!
