Line em up, drop em in.
The landscapers have been replacing the ants around our office with drought tolerant species. A lot of the work was done a while ago, but it was still too cool for the Lantana. They planted empty pots to mark the locations, but it's apparently time for the plants themselves now.
Next up will be to replace the lawn with gravel and more drought tolerant plants, but that can't happen until the winter grass dies and the perennial summer grass begins to reappear. When it pops up it's delicate first shoots, it can be zapped with herbicide and killed. There's a lot of drama in desert landscaping after all.
