Plane tree shadow

Today is the kind of day when I feel happiest, with bright light and strong shadows. Luckily it's the weather we get most of the time here, although this autumn has been unusually cloudy.

The plane trees around the war memorial have been pruned recently, but not cut down like the ones along the main road. I love their stark bold shapes cast against the wall of the post office.
