Toucan
After an early morning flight we touched down in Iguazu- sans 5 pieces of luggage! LAN Airlines managed to lose about half of the planes luggage, including everyone in our party's except mine. To be fair I had a kind of emotional morning due to sleep deprivation and exhaustion, so I needed a win!
From the airport we headed straight to a bird sanctuary which turned out be one of my favourite experiences of the entire trip! It was warm, but we got drenched by tropical rain, and managed to walk through many of the giant enclosures without hoards of other people getting in the way. There were countless tropical birds perched on tree beaches and walkway railings, the best of which were the toucans. I love them!
We the headed to the Brazilian side of the falls. I have to say, they are one of those wonders that have to be seen to be believed. Their sheer size, number, power and beauty are indescribable. Tomorrow's blip will come to you from the Argentinian side.
We returned back to our hotel with some beers and enjoyed an afternoon in the pool before heading out for a fantastic dinner (and afterwards, ice-cream). And so a terrible morning turned into one of my favourite days of our entire trip!
