Lesson from a Twig

I was just trying to ad some fresh greens to our little bathroom. It worked for about 30 minutes. Then each little leaf was hanging its sad little head.

I learned a really good lesson.

There is no better place for a branch than to be connected to its tree. You can stick it in what seems to be life-giving, say, a jar of water, but nothing will sustain its leaves like its tree, its real source of life.

I saw John 15 come alive in this little wilting branch today.
