Morning Walk
Mist. The photographer's friend.
I love misty foggy mornings, where everything is shrouded in mystery, and all the normal everyday stuff becomes ghostly and ethereal. (I like the word ethereal :-) )
This pheasant was sitting on the gate as I approached - George the dog is out of shot to the left. I've got a series of shots as I got closer and closer until eventually it clocked me and I realised he was about to get airborne - and there's the shot!
What is somewhat frustrating is that I set the focus to the bird. I had the time, I had the knowledge, I had the framing - but the technology has let me down. Because if you look closely, the fence line behind the bird is actually the sharpest section in focus. So there's definitely something wrong with my camera/lens because I should have nailed this shot. And I did - but the camera let me down.
Time for a service. MORE money on the altar of photography!
