Round house grows a beard...

Well actually it's being thatched with broom. We've had two days of training in thatching and the new round house is beginning to look a bit more finished (I took this first thing this morning). We were very familiar with the old round house with its turf roof but when the decision was taken to thatch it in a traditional manner it transpired that the whole building needed to come down. So it's a whole new Iron Age Round House which will probably look a bit modern for a while but I'm sure it will then start to look a bit more Iron Age.
