The newt man
Had a gentle walk with L and the dogs this morning around Cookridge. A while ago, she had told me about a housing development due to begin soon. As we approached the area, we came across plastic sheeting around the edges of the fields and then this friendly man digging in one of them.
We stopped and chatted to him for a while and he told us that the work was to protect a rare species of newt that had been found (we assumed a great crested but didn't ask).
L wondered if they had been planted there to prevent the housing... A little cynical perhaps but it did get me wondering too!
Guess what I did then?
I asked for a photo.
Two days on the trot.
On a roll!
L was more embarrassed than me today ;-)
(L looking good, sounding much better & feeling generally in good spirits despite radiotherapy looming next week)
