Dispelling Shadows...

DDWs March 2014 Vocabulary Challenge - Scialytic (dispelling shadows)

To say that today has been busy is an incredible understatement. I had been hoping to get out a lunchtime, to take some shots in the sunshine - moments with no shadow. I think lunch sailed by somewhere between one meeting and trying to juggle three urgent phone calls and someone who "popped in to discuss...."

So I have to look at artificial lights, dispelling shadows. And I like the simplicity of this one. The plasterwork behind is the original 1939 plasterwork, which I couldn't bear to remove. And I rather like the simple "orb" light, which brings out the best of the plasterwork on ceiling.
