drying up ?

This footpath is no longer a river - its down to a trickle. Are the moors starting to dry a little ?

This is a spot where I once saw a Common Lizard so I cannot resist having a really good look when walking past. Today nothing except a very large hawk overhead so obviously any lizard would be gone in a flash one way or another.

It was very foggy this morning and although I was temped out I didn't quite get an interesting enough photo. I drove over the Snake Pass - lovely and warm on the Sheffield side.

The most notable things I saw were rather negative, lots of litter all over the place, bad driving - too fast;White van man on the wrong side of the road on a blind bend just to get round cyclist without slowing down - if I had been another White van man we would have met with a crash. Flowers at the bend were the motorcyclist was killed on Sunday moring.

I counted 8 dead mountain hares at the roadside between the Snake Inn and Glossop which may not be very significant as some had clearly been there much longer than others but still sad to see.

I watched the horse racing with little enthusiasm today but glad to see Big Bucks last race and to hear that he is to retire with someone who already cares for him
