In Search Of Mapperley (2): Wayward
I've been having a proper look at Mr. Tanner's book. Of course, Mapperley itself starts at the junction of Woodborough Road and Mapperley Road (the clue's in the name) - below that it's still St. Ann's. There's a steep bit, apparently known as Stone Hill and at the top there are a couple of houses that I presume are those identified by Mr. Tanner as being "used by the County as homes for wayward children." Fortunately, they've not been used thus for quite a while now; unfortunately, they aren't being used for anything else either, bar the odd bit of graffiti...
