Wind preparations

It's science week next week at schoo,l so as a starter to our wind turbine activities the children are going to make pin wheels - simple I thought!

Not so - it took ages to modify the design so that they actually turned! The paper fasteners also require manual dexterity to insert through the paper. It's going to be interesting................
The colourful one at the back was bought at Lyme Regis last weekend and spins beautifully with spindles made of wood.
Next we have to make mini turbines so that they can lift weights in a plastic cup.........
