Silent Scream

To the wonderful Art Deco Hippodrome Cinema in Bo'ness for this year's Festival of Silent Cinema and the 1920 drama Lucky Star. A lovely story starring Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell, it had a live soundtrack from famed composer Neil Brand, on the old Joanna. Before that, we had a short about Scots nurses in the First World War, featuring the pioneer Elsie Inglis, with a live score from Mike Nolan (not that one!).

And along the way EdiSteve and I made a couple of new chums, Phil and Emma, who are delightful. And the fabulous woman at left was a steward, one of her colleagues is taking our photo.

With canapés and live music before the screening, a fabulous film and fun people, it was a top night. And two more films tomorrow. We are very lucky boys.
