When one's wheel-less and one of you can get down the hill into town but requires a bus or taxi to get back it kinda curtails activities just a wee bit.
I wondered how my "Japanese onions" were getting on. The theory is you put 'em in "Back-end" and they grow over winter to shorten the onion-free part of your gardening year.
Previous attempt went down the swanny due, in part, to the allotment being so far from the house. Now I've a tiny patch in the back garden so thought I'd give them another chance.

Can anybody explain why I seem to be able to see the "holes" in the cloche mesh but can't see the mesh itself?
