Ready for summer

I spent the afternoon in Utrecht city centre for some shopping. Not my favourite time, a Saturday afternoon, but that couldn't be helped. The Saturday crowd didn't bother me as much as it usually does, I quite liked my walk through town and browsing in some shops here and there.

This is a view on a canal. There used to be storerooms located along the water and transport would be over water. Nowadays it's mainly restaurants that are located along the water. A very pleasant place to be on a summer day / evening. A few more shots at Flickr.

There is a big difference between the canals in Amsterdam and the ones in Utrecht. Ours have quays, whereas those in Amsterdam have not.
