Bishop's Palace Bishop Auckland

We have friends staying with us from London this weekend. So after some discussion we decided to stay around the Durham area choosing to visit the Bishop's Palace at Bishop Auckland and then onto Barnard Castle for a spot of antique browsing. This evening I will be taking them to one of my favourite restaurants in Durham City called The Lotus Lounge.

Yesterday was a bit of a rush so needless to say I didn’t get time to blip. We ate at The Black Horse at Beamish which I haven’t been to in a while. They have a new chef now, and the owners have added another dining area in the form of a large conservatory. The food was good so I probably won’t leave it as long before returning next time.
