Standing wave on the River Ness, in Inverness this evening. Just upstream of the Infirmary footbridge. Stopped to see if it was "good enough."
When the river level falls to a sufficiently low level, loons such as myself can be seen mucking about in their kayaks here. Mainly because we don't want to travel far. You can surf, on this humble little wave. Good training for folk that are new to kayaking on rivers, or for the more experienced, brushing up their skills. Surprisingly good exercise... just staying in the same spot.
The last time I went, I forgot my helmet and didn't dare going out. Took some photos instead - a sample.
Being a softie, I'll likely wait until the weather and water warms up a bit...
