Bike Build Frustrations

Having started the build yesterday, I thought the bike should be finished tonight however it wasn't to be!

I had all of the parts I needed, I had taken the rest off of the old bike so all that was required was some simple spannering and I would be ready to go tomorrow.

I stumbled at the first hurdle.......the part that appears to be the best made held me back, the Hope headset or more specifically the Head Doctor. This is a little aluminium bung that replaces the usual star nut, and according to Hope and their instruction video, should just pop into the steerer tube.

After much swearing and frustration, I gave up, it was obvious that a combination of the head doctor diameter and a thick steerer tube was causing the problem, it was a visible 1-2mm difference and I didn't have a file to shave off some of the metal from the steerer tube, so I have to wait until tomorrow morning before I can sort it.

ARGH!!!!
