macerated
Having a few days and nights back in West Cork with my nearest and dearest. Spent the night before with Lisa, Rosie, Peter,Amanda, Sandra and Tim, Mel and Matt. Fine food, wine and friendship flowed - I felt quite restored and still had another day and half to go :0) It was a good move. Thanks everyone, esp Lisa.
This particularly gorgeous looking dessert is macerated pears from the very excellent cook book by Carmel Somers, who runs a well renown restaurant and cookery school in Durrus, nearby - The Good Things Cafe.
Ruth (and Lisa) produced a superb locally sourced menu and I was back in my West Cork foody element. After a discussion about the terminology - maceration (there was a leaning towards maceration in the disposable bedpan term - mulching/mashing type of thing). But no - it's not the same in cookery terms, which was obviously a relief!
Thanks to Ruth, Tom and Mary for ....lots of things. x
