The Lantern

This unusual church tower is another of York's favourite landmarks. There is no glass in the windows but at night it is lit from the inside and really stands out on the dark sky line. It is known affectionately as 'The Lantern' which is exactly what it looks like.

Think York must rank as one of the most photographed cities as wherever you go there is a crowd of photographers of all nationalities jostling for a good position.
