Thatched Roof
Today we feared the blue sky over East Aberdeenshire looked as though it was a fleeting glimpse that would soon pass us by. We headed South in search of the sun, and came to a halt when we got to Glamis. We thought a stroll around the Castle Gardens would be pleasant in the sunshine.
It turned out the Castle was closed (until April 12th), and the Angus Folk Museum was closed also (until the roof of the cottages is fixed. We adjourned to the Strathmore Arms for some refreshment with which to console ourselves.
Duly refreshed we had a stroll around the village. There does not seem to be anything wrong with the thatched roof of this cottage. It is not part of the Folk Museum, and I am not an expert of thatched roofs.
As we retuned to Aberdeen it did indeed seem to be clouding over, but it seemed to be doing likewise in the southerly direction also. As it is we managed to keep the sunshine with us for most of the day.
