Titan Crane

The mighty Titan stands alone against a heavy sky, proud icon of a bygone age.

The crane is all that is left of John Brown's shipyard, birthplace of HMS Hood and the QEII to name but two of the great ships built here.

A survivor of the Clydebank Blitz in March 1941. The Titan is well named, 150ft tall weighing 800 tons, with an overall length 240ft. The lifting capacity was 200 tons.

Now a visitor attraction, it is a considerable landmark by day, and by night the multi-coloured illumination dominates the skyline.
