A Sea of Light
Christmas has arrived in Stony Stratford, Buckinghamshire. The turning on of the Christmas lights is made into a big event in this market town by the lantern parade which precedes it. Local children spend hours constructing the lanterns out of coloured paper over two weekends and then march them through the town. It normally marks a turning in the weather from mild to winter and this year was not a disappointment - where's my hat? And the town centre is blocked off to all traffic which means that throughout the day there is a carnival atmosphere. I had my second cup of mulled wine outdoors this year as well (I think the sharp air makes it taste much better).
