Indoor day

Two windy days for us with a very little drizzle. We actually need rain badly!

Spent some time studying the voting papers for tomorrows local elections - parish councillors (28 votes to be given), parish mayor (1 vote) and county councillors (60 votes). Most other counties will also be voting for their county council chief executive but ours is out of sync having had mid term elections a year or two ago.

All the paperwork looks more complicated than it actually is. We can distribute the 89 crosses we have to make on a "mix & match" basis, voting for candidates from any party. So for instance in the county council elections with 60 votes to make, we could give MrC (see yesterday) who was on the Labour list, a maximum of 3 votes, another person from the Conservatives we know say 1 vote, yet another from the Green party 2 votes and then the remainder (54) to the Monster Raving party which would then be distributed to their candidates according to the individuals position in their party list. No one candidate can be given more than 3 votes. Oh dear it is too complicated to explain.

For the parish mayor there was only one candidate, so that was easy!
