Bridge of distinction

Richmond just north of Hobart, is one of the earliest convict settlement in Australia. Most of the important buildings for this village were built in the early 1800's by convict labour including this bridge.
It is the first convict built bridge in Australia (1823) and the fact that it still remains so intact after all these years, is testimony to the quality of the workmanship of that era.

I was able to cross the bridge and nothing happened. I thought my weight gain from the great Tasmanian fare may have caused a problem!!!
