A beautiful day.

We spent a wonderful day with friends in the country, not far from our own hideaway.

Our host is a surgeon and his burning passion is exactly the same as mine (olive trees), so we hit it off.

Here you can see him pruning his beautiful olive trees.

The surrounding view was 360° wonderful.

A huge flock of ewes made its way over the hill with shepherd and 3 Maremanno sheep dogs.here They are the most amazing animals, more on a par with the shepherd and not very "doggy" at all.
They are normally trained just by being mixedup with the sheep as puppies. There were three with this flock. Two were with the sheep and one sat at a great distance, surveying the whole area. That is the way they work.
