BLUE TITS
Of all the lovely birds I see,
I love the Blue Tits Best.
They stand out with their rare beauty
and seem so full of zest.
So small but full of energy,
they never seem to rest.
In early Spring they seek a home,
a place to build a nest
If and when the young ones come,
for them they want the best.
‘Tis fun to watch them check it out
when there’s a likely spot.
In and out and round about
to see that it has got
all they need to raise a brood,
a place all snug and warm
where they should find sufficient food,
and secure, one hopes, from harm.
Then the great activity
when once the young arrive,
they come and go more frequently
than bees do from the hive.
The long awaited day draws near,
the young ones now have grown,
from the nest they will appear
to start out on their own.
