Chasing after the moon

Well, we set out this evening - having had a very early dinner (G has a blood test for which she has to fast 14 hours prior). We were going to try to get a picture of the rather splendid moon that lots of people are noticing - but in a hurry to get out the door, I forgot some vital equipment (read tripod).

The moon rising was amazing to watch. It started out huge and red and quickly turned to a cheesy yellow but neither of our cameras could quite capture it - so I turned the opposite direction and took Dubai's skyline on an incredibly clear night. This is handheld so excuse the slight blur. The prominent triangular building is the Emirates Towers where I did a course in February.
