Blue Lagoon
Iceland has an abundance of hot springs and uses the water liberally to provide free public bathing. Apart from anything else, this probably promotes mental and emotional health as people get together to enjoy each other's company.
The Blue Lagoon is a very popular tourist resort based at Grindavik on the southwest peninsula. The waters of the pool are fed by wastewater from the nearby geothermal plant. They supposedly have medicinal and health giving properties derived from the algae that thrive in the water and the silica that is a by product.
