Flea Bag!
Some suspicious biddy bites around my ankles today alerted me to the fact that I am overdue on giving the boys their flea treatment.
Treating the boys for fleas is always a trial. The flea ointment, which has quite a strong and distinctive smell of marzipan, comes in little phials. No matter how surreptitious I am being, the second the cap is off the phial, the boys can smell it and they are off. The cats hate the smell of it and I spent an entire evening stalking the cats and attempting to pounce on them with the treatment.
I'd say I got about 50% of the ointment on the cats - which isn't a bad result! About 40% went on me and the remainder on the carpet.
The next thing I am dreading is the annual call for the cats to go to the vet for jabs and a checkup... as that is usually due about this time of year.
Flea-treating the cats is nothing compared to the horrors of trying to wrestle the cats into their cat baskets and then having to drive them to the vet.. but I'm not going to think about that just yet!
