A woman and a dog
“Because of the dog’s joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift.” --Mary Oliver.
I spent the day moving furniture, spring cleaning, making a fresh start on my house. All day it rained, sleeted, hailed, and rained again. Then in the late afternoon the sky cleared, the rainwater drained off, a sharp chill wind set up, and I went for a walk under blossoming trees. On the way I found my friend Donna, with her Lurcher, Bill, who is ten. He's a cross between a Scottish Deerhound and a Bearded Collie. It was my first time to meet Bill and to learn about Lurchers. Wonderful dogs.
