Give Us Sleep

This is Week 2 of the Lent Poems, which focuses on Struggle.

This poem talks about the struggle of Prayer, using various examples of biblical characters. At the end she offers this prayer,

"Lord, give us strength
To hold thee fast until we hear Thy Voice
Which thine own know, who hearing it rejoice.

Lord, give us strength
To hold Thee fast until we see Thy Face,
Full Fountain of all Rapture and all Grace.

But when our strength
Shall be made weakness, and our bodies clay,
Hold Thou us fast, and give us sleep till day."

I think I must have worn the boys out today by first taking them along to help me with my chores for Buon Giorno and then we all went out for a long walk as it was such a nice sunny day. This blip is of Micah, who fell asleep in the car.
