ROAD BREAKERS READY TO GO
Part of my job is to minimise the effects of a condition known as hand arm vibration. The design of these heavy road breakers has improved enormously over the years. The handles are now sprung loaded and absorb much of the vibration that would otherwise be transmitted to the operator. However, we still monitor the amount of vibration transmitted by fitting an electronic tool tag to the top of the machine. The amount of vibration suffered by each operator is downloaded to a computer at the end of every shift to ensure they are well within the safety limits. As you can see, the red tags have all been fitted and the breakers are now ready to go.
