Opportunist

When I looked out of the kitchen window this morning this chap (see large) was taking his opportunity to feed on the spillage from the small bird feeders in the tree above.

Watching a blue tit at the mixed seed feeder earlier you could see the amount of seed it was strewing around with gay abandon. So the bigger birds including this pesky pigeon get a free lunch for little effort.

We haven't got around to cutting the grass yet and the longer grass you can see to,the right in the shot is directly under the niger seed. Wonder if we would get a crop if we left it?
