Better large to see the expression on the first ones face.

Looking for some advice. I recently had to replace my computer and the photo image program that came with it for cropping etc was pretty basic and never retained the information for the date etc when it was altered which gets Blipfoto bent out of shape. Can anyone recommend a software program that will keep all that info after an image is edited? Someone suggested Lightroom 5. Thoughts?
