Cistus

The rock rose (cistus) is found all over where I live, with various colors and sizes of blossoms. This shrub at the end of our driveway delights me with its scent whenever I pass by. It has an aromatic fragrance reminiscent of cedar or something woodsy. I read that a sap or substance inside is used for making incense and sometimes perfumed oil.
