Primrose
Primula vulgaris. I photographed the very first ones back on 22nd February but they are now in full bloom with numerous clumps scattered right down the lane.
These - and all the ones I peered into today - are thrum eyed. If you look closely at the centre of each flower you can see the anthers grouped together. Some primroses are pin eyed - you just see the flat stigma in the middle of the flower, looking like the head of a pin.
