Our Oscar...

Although the Muscovy Duck is a tropical bird, it adapts well to cooler climates and our Oscar has certainly adopted well to the wet weather.

Oscar was found on the road near Loch Tor and in the end he was rescued and came to live at Inishkea about 11 years ago. He's certainly the 'boss' of our duck gang.

His pride was hurt a couple of weeks ago, when we clipped one of his wings, to stop him from his annual flying trip down to the loch. It causes so many problems as he then struggles to get back home. But that's a story for another day...
