Time stands still
My car was stopped outside this house in a queue of traffic for ten minutes this morning as I drove down the hill into Oban. I liked the way the cherry blossom softened the view and screened the windows.
This is the home of my children's paternal Grandfather . I drive past very often, but today , looking though the trees I could remember where all the plants are in the garden and details of the inside of the house. My family involvement in this home stopped when my marriage to my children's father ended 28 years ago.
Today the years disappeared and memory took me back into the living room . I am glad that remembering the goodness of some family times softened the memory of the separation and loss we lived through way back then just as the cherry blossom softened the view.
For ten minutes time stood still .
The drive was rather bleak with rain and mist all day. A long work day again.
