Grandpa came to stay so I took some pictures, but they weren't very good, and then I fiddled about with them, much too much.

Here he is looking at a handwritten document on vellum dated 1736 (isn't that amazing that it survives, intact! in our house!) and I had hoped to show how his eyes lit up as he began to unravel the history behind it.
